Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival was organized for the first time, by the 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece and Artistic Studio Oriental Expression, in collaboration with the Indo – Hellenic Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA), under the aegis of the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT) and the International Dance Council (CID – UNESCO), in Athens, Greece in June 2013. The festival is Greece’s biggest Bollywood festival and one of Europe’s biggest since 2013. The Primary aim of this festival has always been to focus on Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue, International in true sense, based on co-operation with organizations in various countries across the world. Taking place every summer, BMDF is the most unique dance-related happening of the season, and thus is widely covered by the local and international media.
In the past 7 years of its existence, the BMDF has received participation from all over the world. Some of the countries who were a part of the previous editions of the festival include India, Spain, France, Finland, Austria, Egypt, Hawaii (USA), Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Italy, Bulgaria and Portugal.


Artistic Studio Oriental Expression is a member of International Dance Council (CID – UNESCO) and achieved recognition from the beginning by winning the First place at the International Belly dance Festival “The Nile Group Oriental Dance Competition” which was held in Cairo in April of 2009. Moreover, in April of 2012, Bollywood Team of the Studio wins the 1st award and in April of 2013 the Oriental team wins the 2nd prize at 4th and 6th Hellenic Dance Competition in same order.
President and artistic director of Artistic Studio Oriental Expression is Anna Dimitratou, actress, dance teacher (Bollywood, Oriental), choreographer and Pilates instructor.

The Studio has organized many Workshops by inviting acknowledged theater, dance, voice teachers etc., from Greece and abroad, such as George Jacob, Sujata Taware – Kerikoppa, Elisa Rajaa, Michael King, Shoraya Shoheib, Collena Shakti, Elina Kikili, Malek Nikos, Domenika Arnetzeder, Sara Toscano, Swati Wangnoo Tiwari, Lilo Baur, Marcello Magni, Ana Sanchez – Colberg, Osama Emam, Willow Chang, Tapa Sudana, Dilara, Sadie Marquardt, Kostas Filippoglou, Fotis Nikolaou, Chrisiida Liatziviri, Tasos Karahalios, Ermis Malkotsis, Irene Tzanetoulakou, and many more.

Studio’s presence at the Media and it’s professional dancing teams in Oriental and Bollywood (coordinated by Anna Dimitratou), has been very important and have participated in many TV shows like “Mega me mia”, “Eleni”, “Omorfos Kosmos2”, “Sta Kala Kathoumena”, “One Mark Show”, “Dancing with the Stars 3”, “Kalo Mesimeri” (Crete Tv), “Greece’s Colors” Live and more.

Also extensive reports have been made for our work on the news by Mega channel, Star channel, Antenna channel, etc., alongside with reports and tributes about Studio’s work on the daily press.

We have organized a series of shows and Festivals (Technopolis – City of Athens, Dora Stratou Theatre, Music Theatre REX, Orfeas Theater, Neos Kosmos Theater, Melina Merkouri Theater, Public Theater of Argyroupolis, etc).
Theater and dance troupes of our Studio often take part as guest performers in Shows, events, as also in competitions that are organized in Greece and abroad.

In our kinesiological and expressive quests and also our care for the correct training of our members, new expressive dance styles have been and still fall in our program such as: Oriental, Bollywood, Bollybelly, Tribal Fusion, Capoeira, Latin, Classical Indian Dance (Bharatanatyam), Ballet for Adults, Contemporary, Modern ISTD, High Heels, Pilates, Yoga, Barre Astie, Stretch and Flex, Tahitian Dances (Hula), Cretan Dances, Physical Theatre etc.

Our competitive advantage is that at the moment we are the only Dance Studio in Greece that Authentic Bollywood, Bollybelly, and Orientalates (our proposal with Pilates routines in combination with modern and folklore oriental) are organized are taught, as well as Tribal Fusion (Ethnic και American Style).

One more benefit is the simple access to the Studio. We are at Dafni METRO Station (31 Antiopis str.) in a spacious, comfortable and bright space that is used as multipurpose class for theater and dance rehearsals, seminars of great artists and many more social and cultural events.

In early 2013, we founded 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece. Academy’s main goal is to spread and extend Indian Culture and real BOLLYWOOD in Greece. For this reason, Academy cooperates with the bests teachers from Greece and Abroad. Academy addresses to interested professional and amateur dancers, not only in Athens but in whole Greece.
2015 and 2016 there were created the first accredited Master Teachers of Bollywood Dance in Greece. The commencement took place in special ceremonies during the 3rd and 4th “Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival”. On April 2013 we organized the 1st Bollywood Flash Mob in Greece, at Kerameikos Square, given by the chance of celebration for the International Dance Day.

In Spring of 2016 we introduced a new institution, “Oriental Expression Awards”, which organizes International Dance Competitions. 1st Spring International Bellydance Competition on April 2016 and 3rd International Bollywood Dance Competition on July 2016 have already been taken place.
This competition is open for all levels (Beginners, Advanced and Professional) dancers from Greece and Abroad. Winners earn distinctions, awards and gifts from our Sponsors.

The Indo-Hellenic Society for Culture and Development (EL.IN.E.P.A.) is a civil, non-governmental and non- profit-making society that was founded in July 2003 with registration number 8591 at the Athens Court. The Society is administered by a Board of Directors consisting of nine members and has advisors and counsellors.

The aim of the Society is the growth of the Indo-Hellenic educational, social, cultural and developmental co-operation resulting in the aesthetic, moral and intellectual uplift of the individual, development of the universal thought, transcultural dialogue and peaceful coexistence of the people. In order to fulfill the above objectives, the EL.IN.E.P.A. proceeds to the following activities: Publications, Education and Research, Cultural Events, Aid and Development.
