CYPRIOT FOLK DANCES
at 9th Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival

The Folk Dance Group “Enalia Gi” will present traditional Cypriot Dances on Sunday, 2nd July as part of the 9th Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival that will be held at the “Dora Stratou” Theater.
The founder and Dance Teacher of the group is Ms. Niki Michaelidou.
“The aim of the Group is to create continuously based on tradition, the recording of customs, as our ancestors taught us through the difficult route of our homeland, organizing seminars, lectures, performances, excursions and festivals. We also teach Traditional dances from all Hellenism, Crete, Pontus, Macedonia, Peloponnese, Corfu, Rhodes and Asia Minor.
“Enalia Gi” started with a vision to protect and properly promote the original music and dance tradition of our country – Cyprus and Greece – and our goal is to pass on this rich heritage to all those who love tradition and dance”.
Folklore is part of the heritage of a community that evolves spontaneously and orally from generation to generation and is considered a fundamental part of the cultural identity of a people or a nation.
