Kinga Malec

Kinga Malec is a Polish dancer and choreographer of Indian dances, based in Liverpool, UK.

As a child she trained as a figure skater and studied classical ballet for 6 years, she was also a member of the Polish Varsovia ensemble, with whom she performed Polish national dances for 12 years, touring Poland and Europe.

Kinga graduated with a BA in Choreography and Dance Techniques from the Music Academy in Lodz, Poland and MA in Choreography and Dance Theory from the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

For the last 18 years Kinga has been mastering Indian classical dance Kathak with renowned gurus, including Pt. Arjun Mishra in Lucknow, Pt. Birju Maharaj in New Delhi and since 2012 continued with Smt. Nirupama Rajendra in Bangalore, under whom she graduated presenting a two-hour classical Kathak solo recital with live music, in March 2019 in Bangalore, India.

Kinga has performed in 45 countries in 5 continents as a soloist, member of Indialucia music band, Mohini Indian Dance Group and Abhinava Dance Company.

In the UK she works as an independent dancer and associate artist with various artistic companies and charities.

Kinga has 18 years of experience as an instructor and choreographer of kathak, bhangra and bollywood dance, providing regular classes and workshops worldwide. She’s judged 10 international dance competitions and taught at various Indian dance festivals across Europe.

She is the winner of European Next Bollywood Dance Star Contest 2015 in Frankfurt Germany, judged by legendary choreographer Saroj Khan.
