Kinga Malec is a dancer and choreographer of Indian dances. Born in Poland, based in Liverpool, UK.
In her childhood she trained figure skating and danced classical ballet dance for 6 years as well as Polish national dances in Varsovia ensemble for 12 years.
She started dancing Indian dances in 2008 under Polish dancer Magdalena Niernsee (graduated from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, India), then continued training under the best Indian gurus in India: Pt. Arjun Mishra in Lucknow, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Mamta Maharaj and Saswati Sen in New Delhi and since 2012 continued with Smt. Nirupama Rajendra in Bangalore, under whom she graduated presenting a 2 hour classical Kathak solo recital with live music, in March 2019 in Bangalore, India.
Kinga has been working for the last 14 years as a dancer, instructor and choreographer, teaching kathak, bhangra and semi-classical bollywood dance. She has taught and directed Mohini Dance Group and School in Warsaw for 8 years. She has lead numerous workshops and judged several Indian dance competitions across Europe (Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival, Athens, Greece, Sonika Bollywood Festival, Madrid, Spain, Nirmal Art Academy, Cabella Ligure, Italy and USA, Shakti Shine Oriental Dance Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania, Festival of Oriental and Indian Dance ‘Shades of Orient, Poland).
She’s the Brand Ambassador and certified instructor of ‘Learn Bhangra’ company, spreading the love for bhangra dance worldwide.
She graduated from F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland (Masters in Choreography and Dance Theory).
She has performed in most European countries, UK, Israel, Turkey, Nigeria, India, Singapore, Bali, all countries in South America, Canada, Puerto Rico and USA.
She’s a member of international music band Indialucia and Abhinava Dance Company. She performed at Polish TV (for ex. Finale of XXth Polish ‘Dancing with the Stars’ 2017, World of Dance – Polska 2018), TEDxWarsaw 2017. She also took part as a dancer in Shandaar bollywood movie (starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt) partially shot in Poland.
She is the winner of European Next Bollywood Dance Star Contest 2015 in Frankfurt Germany, judged by legendary choreographer Saroj Khan.
