About Us

We can proudly say that The Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival (BMDF) is the Biggest Indian Dance Festival in Europe, and it has been highly influential in promoting Indian Culture in Greece and abroad. Conceived in 2013, by the 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece, so far BMDF has opened its doors to more than 20 countries from all over the world. BMDF has been honored with the Auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Hellenic Tourism Organization (GNTO), the International Dance Council (CID), the City of Athens and the Embassy of India in Athens.
The Primary aim of this festival has always been to focus on Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue, International in true sense, based on co-operation with organizations in various countries across the world. Taking place every summer, BMDF is the most unique dance-related happening of the season, and thus is widely covered by the local and international media.
Since 2013, the BMDF has witnessed participation from more than 30 countries all over the world. Some of the countries who were a part of the previous editions of the festival include: INDIA, SPAIN, FRANCE, HONG KONG, FINLAND, GREECE, BULGARIA, ROMANIA, AUSTRIA, EGYPT, USA, LITHUANIA, PORTUGAL, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, GERMANY, ITALY, ARGENTINA, UK, among others.

ARTISTIC STUDIO ORIENTAL EXPRESSION

Artistic Studio Oriental Expression was founded in 2007 by the renowned Anna Dimitratou and is one of the leading dance institutions in Greece, officially recognized as a member of the International Dance Council (CID – UNESCO). From its early years, the Studio gained international recognition by winning 1st Prize at the International Bellydance Festival “The Nile Group Oriental Dance Competition” in Cairo in 2009, followed by multiple national distinctions in Oriental and Bollywood Dance. With a strong presence in major Greek media and extensive coverage on national television and press, the Studio has organized and participated in significant shows and festivals in Greece and abroad. Guided by the belief that dance is a powerful form of expression that connects cultures and people, Artistic Studio Oriental Expression has evolved into a vibrant and inclusive artistic hub and remains the only dance studio in Greece systematically teaching Authentic Oriental, Bollywood, Tribal Fusion, and dances derived from the East, having trained hundreds of students and professional performers to date.

THE 1ST BOLLYWOOD DANCE ACADEMY GREECE

The 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece was established in 2013 by Anna Dimitratou aiming to introduce the magic of Bollywood Dance in the country. The Αcademy since then has evolved to be one of the most prestigious institutions not just in Greece but in all of Europe. The Αcademy has been a member of the International Dance council (CID UNESCO), since 2013 and we are the only institution providing dance diplomas to become a Bollywood dance teacher in Greece. Over the years, we have been invited to be a part of every major TV Show in Greece like “Kafes me tin Eleni”, “Ela Hamogela”, “It’s Show Time”, “Sta Kala Kathoumena”, and many more. The Academy created history to be one of the few Indian dance groups worldwide to make it on the Finals of any Got Talent Show (Greece Got Talent 2022). The Academy also organises the biggest Indian Dance Festival in Europe, Bollywood & Multicultural Dance Festival, since 2013. We are the only Institution promoting Indian Dance in Greece for a decade. Till date we have taught over 1000 students, performed over 300 shows worldwide and have coached 30 plus students to become teachers!
