Vinatha Sreeramkumar is a dancer, choreographer and entrepreneur from Chennai, India based in Madrid, Spain. She has been trained in Bharatanatyam and classical South Indian music (Carnatic) and Sanskrit theatre in Dr. Raghavan center for performing arts, from the age of 4. After her arrival in Madrid, Vinatha has been part of several important dance festivals in Spain and went on to establish her own dance school, dance company with 6 professional dancers and her theatre production Indiafest. Her YouTube channel which today has more than 27 million views in total and close to 170K subscribers. She has taught workshops in different cities in Spain, Morocco, Thailand, Italy, France, India and Hungary and has taken her Spanish students to India to be trained with dance instructors in Chennai and to learn more about South Indian culture. She was also chosen as Miss India Spain 2011-12 and represented both India and Spain at the Miss India worldwide pageant in Suriname, South America.
Being a scientist with a PhD in molecular Biology, in 2017, she also launched “Bollynaline”, a Bollywood dance-based wellness program (designed for educational institutions, companies and medical associations), where she uses several biological reasons to motivate people to take up dancing as a social and teambuilding alternative to exercise. She has successfully implemented it as a cultural part of the educational syllabus in leading American and British schools and cancer associations in Madrid along with a teacher training program as part of the Ministry of science and education in Spain.
Due to her multifaceted experience and the excellent reception of the public, Vinatha is considered both as an artist and teacher as one of the best native Indian dance professionals in Spain and an ambassador of South Indian culture internationally, being one of the few dancers who knows the form, structure and technique of the south Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam, Bollywood dance and street dance styles like Kuthu in depth.
